Fascination Romanticism

The literary outsider E. T. A. Hoffmann, deeply rooted in Romanticism, opens up fantastic worlds with his stories. In contrast to Hofmannsthal's drama »Das Bergwerk zu Falun«, in which psychoanalysis plays an important role, E. T. A. Hoffmann's interpretation of the saga of Elis Fröbom and his bride Ulla resembles a journey through a night of loss of reality, at the end of which is the awakening in eternal love. A word-music collage from the Elixirs of E. T. A. Hoffmann with Matthias Brandt and Jens Thomas.
