Ancestral Memories

»Abel Selaocoe is described as a cellist and composer, but that is not enough to describe his talents. The South African musician also sings, improvises, dances and conducts, and seems to shape sound with his hands. But Selaocoe's greatest gift is his irresistible energy, with which he sweeps the audience into the music in an utterly heartfelt way,« wrote the British newspaper »The Times« about the classically trained cellist, who nevertheless draws on musical traditions from all over the world. His debut album »Where Is Home (Hae Ke Kae)«, released about a year ago, caused a sensation internationally, and now we are looking forward to the Konzerthaus debut of this exceptional talent, who has so far been successful mainly in the English-speaking world.
