In the course of a career spanning some six decades, Swiss star trumpeter Franco Ambrosetti has performed with greats such as Kenny Clarke, Phil Woods, Joe Henderson and Geri Allen, and has produced an impressive discography. With his new album »Nora«, which he presents at his Konzerthaus debut, he follows in the footsteps of Charlie Parker and Clifford Brown by letting himself be accompanied by a rich string sound. The arrangements were created by multiple Grammy Award winner Alan Broadbent, who is very familiar to Konzerthaus audiences thanks to his performances as pianist in Charlie Haden's legendary Quartet West. At the concert at the end of January, members of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra will play the string part in his arrangements. And with bassist Scott Colley and drummer Peter Erskine, congenial musicians from Ambrosetti's tried and tested rhythm section will also be present.
