Herta Müller

The images with which Herta Müller describes the powerlessness to which she was exposed in the reception camp of a small German town are enigmatic, abysmal and poetic. She grew up as a Swabian in the Romanian Banat and moved to Germany in 1987. Today, the writer, who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2009 for her »Landscapes of Homelessness«, lives in Berlin. When she reads from her latest book »Der Beamte sagte«, a text collage, and presents her collages using image projections at the Wiener Konzerthaus, works by Romanian composer George Enescu will also be played.
