Are you looking for diverse concert highlights and want to take a look behind the scenes? Welcome to »You(th)«, the elective subscription for young people under 27!While the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis and the young Austrian band Synestethic Octet provide jazz at its best, the young vision.string.quartet skilfully strolls between classical string quartet repertoire and their own compositions from genres such as folk, pop, rock, funk and minimal music. Saša Stanišić will read from his novel "Herkunft", which won the German Book Prize, and under the title »Let's play: connection loading« we invite you to a hybrid concert. Federico Albanese's airy, cinematic compositions move between classical music, pop and psychedelia, while the Austrian songwriter AVEC stirs with her voice, which is both delicate and raw at the same time.
Star pianist Hélène Grimaud gives a piano recital in a class of its own, while Anna Prohaska and Patricia Kopatchinskaja illuminate the image of women in the various epochs between saint and whore with Marian settings. Federspiel draws on the wealth of imprints of his sound collective, from folk music to an original pop appeal.
Imposing orchestral sounds are provided by the Birmingham, Saint Louis and Vienna symphonies, the RSO Vienna as well as the SWR Symphony Orchestra. The Viennese band CULK convinces with 80s post-punk and alternative rock and Voodoo Jürgens plays hip Austropop with its »Anti-Folk fürs Beisl«. But that's not all: a backstage tour offers exclusive insights.
