Hagen Quartett
4 Konzerte im Mozart-Saal
Saalplan mit 6 und 4 Kategorien (Mozart-Saal)
Haydn and Beethoven characterize the cycle of the Hagen Quartet: from Beethoven it is the revolutionary last four quartets from the years 1825 and 1826 that span the cycle concerts. From Haydn, it is the first four of the »Erdődy Quartets« from 1797, so called after their patron and dedicatee, which are among the best-known contributions to the genre by the »father of the string quartet«. These Haydn and Beethoven cycles are contrasted in the cycle by key works of Impressionism and classical modernism: Debussy's only string quartet in 1893 opened up a hitherto unknown richness of color for the genre, which is also reflected in Ravel's only string quartet, composed a decade later, and - far beyond the country's borders - still in Bartók's quartets.
