Mittagsmusik
8 Concerts Wednesdays in the Schubert-Saal
Room plan in 4 categories (Schubert-Saal)
In the »Mittagsmusik« cycle, we present talents that we will be hearing a lot more of – such as the countertenor Hugh Cutting, who has been named a BBC New Generation Artist. He is stylistically versatile in his concert – just like the god Morpheus, who gives the program its title. The four pianists Dmitry Shishkin, Szymon Nehring, Ilya Shmukler and Natalia Milstein are excellent in the truest sense of the word, performing masterpieces of classical, romantic and modern piano literature. The Busch Trio from Amsterdam has dedicated itself to Viennese classical music, while friends of fine violin sounds will get their money's worth at the concert by Josef Špaček, who is celebrated not only in the Czech Republic and will perform a varied program with pianist Miroslav Sekera. Martynas Levickis invites you on a journey into the world of Leonardo da Vinci's inventions. With music from the Renaissance to the present day, he follows the development of the accordion from its beginnings to its current form.
