Sitar-virtuoso Anoushka Shankar is a sensitive artist, who believes it is the duty of art to examine current world events. Her album »Land of Gold« encapsulates in music her thoughts about migration and poverty and explores the emotional ground between hope, pain, comfort, vulnerability, loss, anger and love. In collaboration with other artists, she combines a range of different musical genres, from jazz, hip-hop, electonic music, Indian sounds and classical minimalism.
