Life Behind the Ring
Actually, both see themselves as loners, but together they are unbeatable: Ernst Molden and the Nino from Vienna. Reasonably relaxed, the two present hand-picked songs as well as songs from their project »Zirkus,« which is also the soundtrack to the film »Ein Clown, ein Leben« about the »Roncalli« founder Bernhard Paul. The songs tell of life behind the ring, the great after-the-show, when the curtains close and the lights go out, when the professionalism strained to the last muscle fibers, hair tips and laugh muscles gives way to a slowly rising melancholy. And for all their differences, the two musicians nevertheless enter into a symbiosis, according to Ernst Molden: »Sometimes I don't even know, is that him singing now, or is it me? We get as close as we can.« To this Nino Mandl says: »We show each other our worlds.«
