Curiosity throughout a pianist's life

When Rudolf Buchbinder began his piano studies, he was the youngest student at what was then the Vienna Academy of Music: at the age of only five, he was accepted at the cadre school. Many compositions have now accompanied the pianist throughout his life as a pianist: for example, the works of Chopin, whose etudes he performed as an eight-year-old with a remarkable musical intuition. Even today, after decades of an extraordinary musical career, his spontaneity and emotionality are decisive for the interpretation. In January, he will approach selected Chopin pièces and Beethoven's »Pathétique« with confidence, masterfully with the eye of a connoisseur, but also with fresh curiosity.
