At the core of the quartet repertoire
The Quatuor Mosaïques has been an institution for decades as the original sound quartet founded by the principals of Nikolaus Harnoncourt's Concentus Musicus Wien, the first ensemble of its kind to revive the masterpieces of the early decades of the genre's history according to the principles of historical performance practice. In mid-January, it will devote itself to its core repertoire: the third of the »Sun Quartets« that established Joseph Haydn's international fame, the first of his Erdődy Quartets" already intended for concert performance, and Ludwig van Beethoven's so extraordinary late C-sharp minor Quartet.
