Great talents and teachers
The Seasons - no, not by Antonio Vivaldi, but by Alexander Glazunov: for the first time, you have the opportunity to hear this colorful composition at the Vienna Konzerthaus. Like his teacher Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Glazunov impressed with his orchestrations. The child prodigy, later teacher of Dmitri Shostakovich, himself mastered the playing of several musical instruments.
Great teachers also had soloist Julia Hagen, 2019/20 and 2020/21 Great Talent of the Vienna Konzerthaus. She is the daughter of cellist Clemens Hagen and received lessons from Heinrich Schiff, among others. Now she herself plays Dvořák's Cello Concerto, which she has always admired in its interpretation - according to Julia Hagen, a work like a »journey through the world of emotions«.
