Pianistic royal class
With the statement »Where do they come from, the great supertalents? Some say they come from nature, some say they come from the Gods« begins a documentary about Daniil Trifonov and thus poses the question of the incomprehensible. Trifonov is an exceptional figure in the pianistic guild. One who discovered his talent early on was his teacher and mentor Sergei Babayan. With him, Trifonov has since formed a duo more often than not; both are regarded as proven connoisseurs of the Russian repertoire (and much more), and so a concert in honor of jubilarian Sergei Rachmaninoff is one of the pianistic highlights that has the potential to be a memorable evening: Babayan and Trifonov bring to light, on two pianos, the oeuvre of a grand master of late Romanticism. A rare opportunity to experience two top pianists with a genuinely pianistic repertoire!
