In music, 24 is a kind of magic number: important piano cycles comprise this number of individual pieces. Pianist Dora Deliyska takes up this principle in her latest project »Études and Préludes«. The musician, who was born in Bulgaria in 1980 and now lives in Vienna, likes to devote her projects to ingenious concepts that cast a spotlight on particular facets across music history. Her project »B-A-C-H« led her not only to the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, but also to those of Frédéric Chopin and Dmitri Shostakovich. Now she interprets etudes and preludes from the 19th century - by Frédéric Chopin, for example – to the 20th century – by György Ligeti, for example. It goes without saying that highlights such as the Préludes by the impressionist Claude Debussy are also on the programme.
