Free and virtuoso

Folklore, jazz, pop and improvisation, paired with incomparable virtuosity and creativity, the highest musical standards and unbridled joy of playing - this is what the Janoska Ensemble's program »The evolution of rhapsody« promises. In their very own »Janoska style«, the four classically trained musicians combine a wide variety of styles, masterful improvisation and folk music influences in a unique way and transcend all genres with their polyglot musical language. So what could suit them better than the free form of the rhapsody, often inspired by folk music? And so the Janoska Ensemble dedicates itself to a showcase of rhapsodic milestones spanning almost two centuries, from Liszt's »Hungarian Rhapsody« No. 2 to Gershwin's »Rhapsody in Blue« and Freddie Mercury's »Bohemian Rhapsody« to its own compositions.
