Patricia Kopatchinskaja is known for her versatility. In March, our portrait artist performs the new violin concerto by Aureliano Cattaneo with the Vienna RSO and under the direction of chief conductor Marin Alsop. »Not alone we fly« was commissioned by the Wiener Konzerthaus, among others, and is dedicated to the brilliant violinist. The program also includes works by two contemporary composers. While a new work by Hannah Eisendle will be premiered at the beginning, the second half of the concert will be opened by Roxanna Panufnik's »Two composers, four hands«. This is a tribute to her father Andrzej Panufnik and his duo partner Witold Lutosławski. The concert will conclude with Sir James MacMillan's orchestral work »Woman of the Apocalypse«, which combines music with visual art.
