Presented by Wiener Konzerthausgesellschaft

Macabre et sérieux

Concert invitations take Davide Mariano across the globe: born in Italy in 1988, the organist, harpsichordist and conductor performs in the most important concert halls and cathedrals in Europe, America and Japan, including Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral, Suntory Hall in Tokyo and the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg. He will be making his debut at the Wiener Konzerthaus: during his guest performance on the Rieger organ, he will be interpreting highlights of 19th century organ literature, such as Widor's 6th Symphony written in 1878, as well as arrangements of piano and orchestral compositions for the »Queen of Instruments«. The programme includes Mendelssohn Bartholdy's »Variations sérieuses« and Prokofiev's fast-paced Toccata, in which Mariano can show off his talent for »astounding the listener« (according to one press review) with virtuosity.
