A »Great Talent« Performs
The Simply Quartet has already achieved great renown in the chamber music scene. Founded in Shanghai under the patronage of Jensen Horn-Sin Lam, it moved to Vienna to focus intensively on the essence and origins of quartet playing. The quartet was awarded 1st prize at the International Joseph Haydn Chamber Music Competition in Vienna, at the chamber music competition »Franz Schubert and the Music of Modernity« in Graz, at the Carl Nielsen International Chamber Music Competition in Copenhagen and at the Concours International de Quatuor à Cordes de Bordeaux. It has been a ‘Great Talent’ of the Wiener Konzerthaus since the 2020/21 season. As a ‘Rising Star’ of the ECHO (European Concert Hall Organisation), it gave concerts in the 2021/22 season at the BOZAR Brussels, the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden and the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, among others. Now it will perform Haydn's penultimate completed string quartet, Dvořák's »American String Quartet« and Webern's Slow Movement for String Quartet, among others - repertoire highlights of the quartet literature from the classical, romantic and modern periods.
