At the beginning of February, Slavko Ninić, court-certified interpreter for Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian since 1979, but above all guitarist, singer and founder of the Wiener Tschuschenkapelle, celebrates his 70th birthday. And a good month later, his legendary formation will celebrate it in the Vienna Konzerthaus. The band, which has been acting as a cultural ambassador between Austria and the countries of the former Yugoslavia since 1989, recently caused a sensation here on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of its founding. Ninić wrote about that evening in May 2019 in retrospect: »Full house, good mood in the audience, good mood also in the dressing room, the best technicians you could wish for. Our guests were also in a good mood [...]. And of course the band itself: Everyone understands the smallest hint of their colleague [...]. [...] On this evening we [...] actually succeeded in doing just about everything [...].« If the author of these lines is now personally hailed by the Wiener Tschuschenkapelle and the Wiener Konzerthaus, something similar can certainly be expected again.
