Between truth and fiction

History, origin, skin color and social imbalance - these are some of the major themes that bestselling British author Zadie Smith, born in 1975, deals with. Her debut novel »White teeth« (2000) gave her her breakthrough and advanced to become a classic of contemporary English-language literature. Numerous international prizes such as the World Prize for Literature (2016) or the Austrian State Prize for European Culture (2018) followed. Zadie Smith's sixth novel »Deception« is based on true events, specifically on one of England's most famous trials: the Tichborne case surrounding the son of the wealthy Lady Tichborne, who disappeared for years and was later supposedly recovered. Be there when acclaimed author Zadie Smith makes her first guest appearance at the Vienna Konzerthaus to present her latest work! Lili Winderlich (ensemble of the Vienna Burgtheater) reads the German translation, Julia Hagen and our »Great Talent« Anton Gerzenberg provide the musical good tone.
