Mozart at his most beautiful
With the Belcea Quartet, which is characterized by playful precision and musical expressiveness, and the charismatic, exceptional violist Tabea Zimmermann, two greats of their profession come together to form a top-class chamber music ensemble to dedicate themselves to two of Mozart's genre-defining string quintets. The String Quintet in C major K 515, which impresses with its virtuoso serenity and a certain monumentality, is not only the most comprehensive of Mozart's chamber music works, but also one of his most remarkable compositions. Around the same time, Mozart wrote the String Quintet in C minor K 516b as an arrangement of his Wind Serenade K 388.
As with the sold-out and acclaimed concert by the Belcea Quartet and Tabea Zimmermann - together with cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras and Brahms' string sextets - in May 2024, the audience can once again look forward to rousing chamber music at the very highest level.
