Brad Mehldau

One of the most lyrical voices in contemporary jazz piano, Brad Mehldau has forged a path that embodies the essence of jazz, classical romanticism and pop. Mehldau has received numerous awards both as a bandleader and for his collaborations with greats such as Pat Metheny, Renée Fleming and Joshua Redman. On his forays through the most diverse musical idioms - both as a trio and as a soloist - he brilliantly rearranged songs by contemporary songwriters such as the Beatles, Cole Porter, Radiohead, Paul Simon, Gershwin and Nick Drake; Mehldau also continued to expand his own oeuvre of original compositions. With his preference for popular music and his classical training, Mehldau is, according to »The New York Times«, one of the most influential jazz pianists of the last 20 years. The superstar honors the Wiener Konzerthaus with his trio.
