Eva Reiter
Eva Reiter is not only one of Austria’s most highly regarded contemporary composers, but is also highly sought after as a performer both of her own works and those of other composers. As a recorder and gamba player, she is equally at home both in early music and in new music. Her focus is not only on traditional instruments — on which she performs works that are sometimes centuries old — but she also makes use of electronic distortion, using every available Instruments including her own body and, of course, that part of her body that is closest to music: her own voice. In the new season, the Wiener Konzerthaus will offer a five-part special portrait series, exploring and highlighting the many different aspects of her endlessly complex artistic oeuvre.
