Nordic Double

The Norwegian violin virtuoso Vilde Frang, »WSY-Artist« of the current season, is the star guest of this third date in the cycle »Fridays@7« of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. On the podium is the Finn Santuu-Matias Rouvali, also from his basic training as a studied percussionist a guild mate of Sir Simon Rattle, for example. What the Norwegian's flawless intonation and tasteful phrasing predestines her for Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto, Rouvali brings to Stravinsky's »Petrushka«: precise timing and youthful temperament to help the percussive drive of this music break through. Afterwards, the two protagonists, supported by the piano duo Johanna Gröbner and Veronika Trisko as well as the symphonic musicians Flip Philipp and Thomas Schindl, alias »Piano meets Percussion«, will have a musical rendezvous in the Grand Foyer.
