The born diva

Her role model Dame Joan Sutherland described her as a »born diva« at a young age, and today she is one of the most sought-after and popular singers of our time: Latvian mezzo-soprano Elīna Garanča can already look back on an illustrious career as an opera and concert singer and not only has a »brilliant voice« (Joan Sutherland again), but also an incredibly rich repertoire. She offers a »best of« from this repertoire in this gala concert, in which she shines with arias by Camille Saint-Saëns and Charles Gonoud, among others.
