About us – Support for young talent – Classical Future Europe

Julian Kainrath

Julian Kainrath: 22.03.2021
Year of Birth: 2005
Instrument: violin
Nationality: Italy

On March 26th, 2021, Julian Kainrath (15) will present himself to 24 pupils of the same age at the new secondary school in Vienna’s Roterdstraße in the context of a digital artist’s visit, giving the 4d class an opportunity for a lively first encounter with classical music – even in times of a general pandemic. Upfront, the kids will be able to access the live recording of a concert from the digital series »Moment Musicaux« at the Wiener Konzerthaus, which took place on May 7, 2020. In a special interview, Julian Kainrath will give the young people insights into his life both as a pupil and as a musical prodigy. How can one combine school with the demands of an intensive musical training? How does a young person cope with playing concerts in various different countries? Does such a life allow time for other activities and hobbies? By gaining insights into the personal life of this young artist, pupils from one of Vienna’s outlying districts, who have comparatively little direct experience of classical culture, are given an opportunity to encounter music which lies outside their everyday experience. Following this, the kids will formulate general as well as personal questions which they can ask Julian in the course of a live encounter with the musician via classroom from the Mozart Saal of the Wiener Konzerthaus.

Julian Kainrath is looking forward to sharing his experiences with young people of his own age who, however, grew up in completely different circumstances, offering them access to new musical perspectives. It will be interesting for him to observe the impact of his artistic accomplishments, digitally conveyed, on kids who have not had any such previous encounters with classical music. This will be a novel experience for the violinist as well, which, he feels, will have a positive influence on both his artistic and personal development.
