With her production of „The Nutcracker“, Alexandra Dariescu demonstrated impressively how best to introduce Tchaikovsky’s music and the story of the ballet to a young audience. Following an excellent concept and linking fairy-tale enchantment, music and the story of one of the most famous works in musical history, she formed a marvellous Gesamtkunstwerk. The fabulous arrangements of Tchakiovsky’s music are equal in emotional strength and intensity to the original. The production left enough space for the imagination of each individual audience member and allowed the piano and thus the music to play a prominent part.
