Christoph Sietzen gave a participatory percussion-workshop, lasting several hours, for 25 pupils from the ages of 10 to 12 in a classroom at the partner school of the Wiener Konzerthaus. The children were given the opportunity to acquaint themselves with a host of different instruments and to try them out personally whilst learning about various types of rhythm and techniques. The workshop concluded with a song that the pupils performed together with Mr. Sietzen in front of the whole school. As many of the kids had never played an instrument before, this event not only afforded them an enjoyable first contact with the artist and allowed them to be part of an exciting live performance, but also aroused their interest in learning to play an instrument. Given his open and authentic nature, Christoph Sietzen convinced us that he is a prime candidate for such mediation events; therefore we contracted him for a further youth-concert in the upcoming 2019/20 season.
