In the context of the multi-layered, cross-genre festival “Gemischter Satz” he succeeded brilliantly with his highly expressive interpretations and the great mix of musical styles at his command, captivating everyone present. Owing to his stylistically confident rendering, he managed additionally to highlight the effects of the festival’s versatile programme. The successful interplay between spoken text and music culminated in a homogenous, fluid performance that was received enthusiastically by the audience. We are going to continue with this festival format in the current season and are planning to contract Vikingur Ólafsson for further appearances.
