In the context of the staged concert series “Cinello” which is designed for kids from the ages of 1 to 3 years and their accompanying adults, dancer Aline Kristin Mohl and singer Marie-Christiane Nishimwe introduce the children to various different acoustic colours and vocal ranges. With the help of games that help train perception, and by making use of simple melodies and rhythms, we succeeded in bringing our youngest audience in contact with opera singing and stimulating their enthusiasm. In six performances, Marie-Christiane Nishimwe presented herself as particularly sensitive in dealing with small children, and sang both children’s songs and selected works from her own repertoire. As a result, we are happy to include Ms. Nishimwe in our future projects for children and young people.
