http://www.notosquartett.de/deIn a moderated lunchtime concert at the Brunnenpassage, the Notos Quartet presented itself most convincingly and with great success to a very mixed audience. Around 100 pupils from a Viennese secondary school between the ages of 13 and 14 years, 20 students and 20 grown-ups listened to several works for piano quartet from various epochs – from the very first piece composed for this formation, written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1786, all the way to a contemporary piece by Bryce Dessner. To help their audience better to orientate themselves and to illustrate how this particular type of music developed over the years, the musicians also used graphic devices such as the projection of a timeline, including the epochs and composers’ dates. With the help of this event, which took place outside the Wiener Konzerthaus, we succeeded in reaching a very diverse audience, introducing them to the piano quartet as a specific art form and opening up completely new musical perspectives. As the Notos Quartet is very keen to adopt new forms of presentation in the field of classical music, we are currently planning further joint projects with the artists for our upcoming seasons.
