Viennese soul and Vorarlberg jazz
East and West, soul and an energetic brass sound: two musical worlds come together with the 5/8erl in Ehr'n from Vienna and the Vorarlberg Jazz Orchestra. The duet with the lyrical lyrics by Max Gaier and Bobby Slivovsky, accompanied by an instrumental trio, is not only familiar to visitors to the Viennese baths, who are always kindly invited out at »Badeschluss«. The relaxed atmosphere at the end of a summer's bathing day is indeed perfectly suited to the ensemble's sound. »Siasse Tschik«, »Vaporizer« and »Alaba, How Do You Do?« are now classics.
Charming lyricism with a big band sheen
The big band line-up of the Vorarlberg Jazz Orchestra, with founders Martin Eberle on trumpet and Martin Franz on saxophone, adds sparkle to the charming songs and inspires with its love of experimentation. Clemens Wenger and Benny Omerzell are on the keys. »Ruhe macht Panik« is the motto when soul, funk and groove meet jazz, Balkan brass and reggae – in a fine, ironic and joyful way.
