From Bach to Ligeti
Balázs Szabó, born in Hungary in 1985, discovered his extraordinary musicality at the age of 15. He completed his studies at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest and perfected his training in master classes. He has been awarded prestigious prizes such as the Grand Prix and Prix Spécial of the Biarritz Organ Competition and the Second Prix d'Interprétation at the 24th Grand Prix de Chartres in Paris. He is intensely interested in Max Reger, of whom he has recorded a selection of the Choral Fantasias on CD, among other works. The organist will make his debut at the Vienna Konzerthaus with a varied program ranging from works by Bach, Liszt and Reger to the jubilarian György Ligeti.
