London Symphonies

»With Haydn's works, clarity, transparency and piano culture of an orchestra can be promoted to the highest degree«, enthused Mariss Jansons. As is well known, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen possesses these very qualities to a considerable degree, so one can look forward to their taut and fast-paced interpretation of three of Haydn's London symphonies in particular. The pointed and percussive nature of his approach is, after all, a trademark of Paavo Järvi, who as a trained percussionist has an unerring sense of precise timing. Especially the rapid final movements of Haydn will benefit from this advantage, of which Eugen Jochum once exaggeratedly said that they should be played »as fast as possible«.
