Triumph on all strings

Brandee Younger is one of the most celebrated jazz artists of our time. The harpist, composer and bandleader rewrites the history of her instrument in jazz and incorporates R'n'B, soul, funk and hip-hop into her music. She regularly collaborates with jazz colleagues such as Ravi Coltrane and Christian McBride, and Quincy Jones hired her for his »Soundtrack of America« project in 2019. And the harp sounds of the native New Yorker can be heard in Beyoncé's film »Homecoming« as well as in the songs of rapper Common. At her Konzerthaus debut, Brandee Younger presents her latest album »Brand New Life« as a trio. It is a tribute to the legendary Dorothy Ashby, who was a pioneer of the jazz harp in the 1960s. An evening of multi-stringed music!
