Crystal-clear brilliance

Japanese pianist Mao Fujita is a prime example of how even Herculean virtuoso works such as Liszt's Rhapsodies or Rachmaninoff's 3rd Piano Concerto - performed with the appropriate sensitivity - can be of crystal-clear brilliance. With his transparent, naturally perfect sound, the talented pianist already wowed international competition juries as a teenager. The 26-year-old is now a guest at such prestigious events as the BBC Proms and the Salzburg Festival and performs with the Cleveland and Royal Concertgebouw Orchestras. At the Wiener Konzerthaus, Mao Fujita has been a rising star in the pianist's firmament since 2023 - this time with his second recital in the Mozart Hall, where he will perform an original program ranging from Beethoven to Mendelssohn and Brahms to Wagner, Liszt and Schönberg.
