»More Hitchcock than Hitchcock himself« was the critics' verdict on the crime drama »A cottage on Dartmoor« by British director Anthony Asquith. The film, which was made on the cusp of sound film, tells the story of the shy hairdresser's apprentice Joe in flashbacks. His unhappy love affair with the manicurist Sally almost turns him into a murderer. The all-rounder Benny Omerzell provides a new soundtrack to the tragic love triangle. His music moves between pop, rock, electronic and jazz. The romantic staging of nature à la Caspar David Friedrich on canvas meets piano sounds and electronics. »Music can and should have rough edges, that's what makes it lively and exciting«, says Benny Omerzell.
