Virtuoso chamber music
Julia Fischer has been at the forefront of the international violin elite for 20 years and has been a regular guest at the Vienna Konzerthaus for just as long. However, she has appeared here almost »only« as a soloist in orchestral concerts or with a complete performance of Bach's solo sonatas and partitas on two evenings in February 2010, which has remained in the vivid memories of many. In contrast, she has hardly ever performed chamber music here. The same is true for the pianist Yulianna Avdeeva, who has played several piano concertos and given a piano recital here in recent years, but has never appeared as a chamber musician. The two virtuosos will change that with a joint sonata recital, whose program ranges from Beethoven's first violin sonata to the famous highly romantic sonata by César Franck.
