A large part of British vocal music can be traced back to ceremonies and celebrations for the British royal family. The King's Singers, named after King's College in Cambridge, where the former members studied, drew and continue to draw from this rich source and, after their concert debut in May 1968, quickly became musical ambassadors for the United Kingdom and its rich choral history. In September 2022, Charles III became the first king to sit on the British throne in the ensemble's 56-year history. Reason enough for the King's Singers to celebrate this with the a cappella program "Long Live the King". The six singers present works by British composers from William Byrd to Ralph Vaughan Williams, popular pop, jazz, folk and spiritual arrangements and, of course, songs that are closely associated with the royal family and its history. Long Live the King's Singers!
