»I'm addicted, I'm singing again«, comments Roland Neuwirth on his collaboration with the radio.string.quartet. The veteran of the Viennese song took around a year and a half off the stage after his departure from the Extremschrammeln (after an impressive 42 years!). A request for a festival appearance with any line-up brought Neuwirth back on stage, alongside a string quartet that he has long held in high esteem: the radio.string.quartet. The collaboration is no coincidence: violinists Bernie Mallinger and Igmar Jenner were members of the Extremschrammeln for a long time. Together with violist Cynthia Liao and cellist Sophie Abraham, they form a virtuoso grooving string quartet that is very familiar to Konzerthaus audiences and adds a new facet to Roland Neuwirth's songs.
