If you love the swinging brass sound, this concert by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, arguably the best jazz orchestra in the world, under the direction of jazz legend Wynton Marsalis is just right for you. Wynton Marsalis, probably the most famous jazz musician and one of the best trumpet players of his generation, nine-time Grammy award winner and the first jazz composer to win a Pulitzer Prize, is the portrait artist of the Wiener Konzerthaus this season. For around two decades, he and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, consisting of 15 top-class jazz musicians, have been diligently pursuing the goal of preserving the jazz heritage and at the same time delivering a modern interpretation of classic swing, thus inspiring an ever-growing audience for jazz. They are guaranteed to succeed on this evening too! Special guest Thomas Gansch, the versatile Austrian trumpeter, horn player and audience favorite, will be performing.
