Sonata for 7 cities

Pianist Filippo Gorini, born in 1995, gives a piano recital with sonatas by Schubert and Beethoven as well as a new composition by Stefano Gervasoni. The latter was commissioned for Gorini's sustainable project »Sonata for 7 cities«, which is taking place in seven cities around the world and includes a piano recital, an orchestral concert and numerous music education activities: In Vienna, Gorini will give free individual lessons to young pianists and visit school classes, care homes and other social institutions in the city with the education team from the Wiener Konzerthaus to give free discussion concerts. At the orchestral concert on March 9 in the Mozart Hall of the Wiener Konzerthaus, he will play Beethoven's 2nd Piano Concerto in B flat major op. 19 with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Jan Willem de Vriend. Filippo Gorini studied in Bergamo and Salzburg and is artistically accompanied by Alfred Brendel and Mitsuko Uchida, among others. He has performed at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. He won the Premio Abbiati in 2022 and the Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award in 2020. His three albums of late works by Beethoven and Bach have received major awards.
