Violin art to the power of 2
The Austrian violinist Leonhard Baumgartner, who is just 17 years old, has already won prizes at numerous national and international competitions and performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, the Baden-Baden Philharmonic and the Liechtenstein Symphony Orchestra. In November 2023, he made his debut at the Vienna Konzerthaus. He can now be heard here for the second time together with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra under the direction of its longstanding principal guest conductor Joji Hattori. Framed by works for string orchestra by Edward Elgar and Gustav Holst, Leonhard Baumgartner will showcase his violin skills twice in Joseph Haydn's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in C major Hob. VIIa/1 and in arrangements of Hungarian Dances by Johannes Brahms.
