Mahler recoloured

In their programme »Wohin ich geh’«, Musicbanda Franui has uncovered the folk music sources of inspiration of Gustav Mahler, one of their »house and court composers«. It performs Mahler's large orchestral songs with rather small instrumentation and their own special sounds. The Bavarian Radio Choir takes on the part of the lieder singers. The former director of the BR Choir, Howard Arman, has arranged the monophonic parts for four-part choir, taking them to new dimensions of sound.
