»Villagers« - that sounds like a singing village community. In fact, the Irish singer-songwriter Conor O'Brien is behind it. Apostrophised by the press as »the shy genius« and known for his thoughtful to sombre lyrics, listening to the music of The Villagers conjures up associations with the songs of The Frames, U2 or Leonard Cohen. O'Brien's poetic verses can now also be read in the newly published volume »Passing A Message«, which contains the lyrics of over 80 songs. Included are artworks and photos as well as previously unpublished text drafts and drawings from sketchbooks. Now the cult indie folk band is coming to the Wiener Konzerthaus for the first time.
