Hamlet and Ophelia

He is revered by »Tatort« fans and »Jedermann« fans alike: Actor Lars Eidinger is a proven constant in the German-speaking world of theater, film and television. Together with the multi-award-winning Austrian-English soprano Anna Prohaska and pianist Eric Schneider, he will be performing a program that focuses on William Shakespeare's »Hamlet« and the character of »Ophelia« in particular. While Eidinger reads from »Hamlet« and the play »Hamletmaschine« by German playwright Heiner Müller, selected song settings by Johannes Brahms and Hector Berlioz, among others, inspired by the unhappy, loving Ophelia will be performed. Anna Prohaska indirectly slips into the role of the fascinating Shakespeare character and musically paints a multi-faceted picture of her soul.
