Music can transport us from the real world into an immaterial world. The artists at the discussion concert, Franz Welser-Möst and Julian and Christoph Prégardien, accompanied by Pauliina Tukiainen, see this ability particularly realised in Franz Schubert's music. Harsh reality and wondrous places of longing ring incomparably true in his songs. »Where you are not, there is happiness« - even a slight shift in meaning can change the message of one of Schubert's most famous songs. What does the ghostly breath that sounds out to the »Wanderer« here want to tell us?
